There are a limited number of locks and therefore the supply of devices is subject to availability. We reserve the right to withdraw the offer at any time. Reasonable notice of this fact will be given.
The subsidised lock scheme is open to students and staff at the University of Manchester only.
Eligibility – From the scheme launch date those who will be eligible for a subsidised lock will be the following.
Owners of bikes with poor quality lock identified through the yellow ‘Trade In’ labels.
- These will be distributed by University staff at cycle racks throughout the campus.
- Owners will need to log onto the crime reduction website for details of how to purchase the subsidised lock.
- Cycle owners must provide the relevant label and serial number together with the purchase receipt when collecting their lock.
Students/staff who register their bikes with the free University scheme.
- All students and staff who have either had their bike overtly marked with a UoM number and/or registered their bike.
- Owners will need to log onto the crime reduction website for details of how to purchase the subsidised lock.
- Applicants who have had their bikes marked/registered must provide the unique UoM registration number together with the purchase receipt when collecting their lock.
