Jodrell Bank Centre for Engagement

Jodrell

Jodrell Bank welcomes visitors to the University of Manchester’s Jodrell Bank Observatory in the Cheshire countryside.

Home to the world-famous Lovell Telescope, the Observatory is part of the University’s School of Physics and Astronomy and carries out leading research in Pulsars. It is also home to the new International Headquarters of the Square Kilometre Array – which will be the world’s biggest telescope when it begins operation in the 2020s.

Jodrell Bank welcomes over 130,000 visitors every year, including 15,000 school children making Education visits. As well as its Education activities, the Centre encompasses engaging exhibition spaces, an exciting Events programme, a superb Cafe and wonderful Gardens.
