‘Beyond Exceptionalism II’ is the second interdisciplinary conference that addresses the misapprehension that powerful medieval women were ‘exceptional’. This second conference, held in the UK, will expand the avenues and interpretations of medieval women– both elite and non-elite, secular and religious – and explore new methodologies. These include papers that draw upon material culture, network analysis, gender and space and non-European perspectives.
