Faculty of Life Sciences"The Faculty of Life Sciences is one of the largest and most successful unified research and teaching organisations of its kind in Europe. We have over 2000 students and more than 200 academic staff.
We have a international reputation in research that spans from molecules, cells and whole organisms to populations and the environment. We were in the top three Biology groupings in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise. Our research is arranged into 12 thematic Research Groups, and we use cross-disciplinary approaches to address major biological problems of global significance.
Our students benefit from modern facilities, innovative teaching techniques, and the opportunity to be taught by leading experts from across the breadth of the life sciences. The exceptional educational experience we offer is demonstrated by consistently excellent results in the National Student Survey."
